Borra Week

Borra Week is taking place August 1st - 7th this year. Make sure you participate! :D
So, what's happening to this blog now that Borra week is over? :c
asked by furbyfucker

Nothing. It will remain as a collection of Borra Week submission until the next Week will be announced in 2013.

However, I will still allow submission for late participants, so if we have any, you will still see posts. But will not be looking for and reblogging posts.

Borra Week - Day 7’s prompt: Moonlight.
I decided to finish the week with something more elaborated and not so sketchy.  Nothing more romantic than a night by the moonlit sea.

Borra Day 3 “Masquerade”

thehghm:

Day 3… better late than never, right?

Now I present: MESSIN’ WITH TAHNO.

“What do you mean I can’t trip him?”  Korra whispered furiously at Bolin as they slouched on their seats near the side of the room.  An upbeat song played in the air, the orchestra and band sitting near the front of the room.  Couples danced and twirled in the middle of the room, swaying to the beat.  Mako and Asami were somewhere in the mess of people, but they were gone from sight.  Bolin and Korra had instantly had their evening ruined after a slow dance together when Tahno had decided to show up next to them.

For Borra Week day 5, Crime.

I’ll say nothing on your microphone
Till you swear to take me home
There’s a one foot boy eleven stone
He’s sitting on my shoulder
I’m too scared to look away,
He comes here almost everyday
And everyday I push him off and tell him boy we’re over

One Foot…

A/N: Happy Borra Week!! So… when’s the next one?

Borra Week - Day 7
Rating: M because of reasons

“These guys are dangerous, Korra. I don’t want you to go!”

She shakes her head, and he feels his heart sink with despair. Because Korra is stubborn, but this is the one time he’s begging her not to be.

“I have to,” she whispers. “If I don’t… more people will die.” More benders’ deaths on her hands, and she’ll do anything in her power to end this needless violence.

“Korra… please!”

She sighs miserably and bows her head, biting her lip. Because she knows what she must do, and that she’ll never be able to get Bolin to understand why she must do it. But she tries anyway. “It’s my job as the Avatar to protect people and maintain balance in the world.”

But you can’t do that if you’re DEAD!” he cries hysterically. She winces, heart breaking when she hears his voice crack with barely contained emotion. He’s trying not to cry, but his eyes are glassy with unshed tears. “You know you’re just gonna be walking into a trap, right?! Please!” he begs, “I don’t want anything bad to happen to you!” He chokes on his words, and Korra shuts her eyes, fearing the burn at the back of her eyes for putting him through this.

Borra Week 2012 :: Day 7 :: Moonlight

ryuclockwork:

I’m wrapping up my Borra Week with some cheesy writing. Korra and Bolin lie in the snow (with Naga as a pillow) and talk about stuff. In the middle of the night. In the South Pole. Fluffy, sappy, meaningless. I’m not sure when this takes place—definitely after the season one finale. I’m pretending they go back to the South Pole for at least a little while in season two. So there. I’m very sorry for writing this.

The South Pole is different in a lot of ways, and although Bolin is not a big fan of the freezing temperatures and the snowy sea of nothing, he finds that he kind of likes the pure, untouched silence of night-time. Republic City is always moving, always progressing, and it’s never quiet—not even at two in the morning. The sounds of satomobiles used to lull him to sleep at night, and although he feels somewhat out of balance due to the sudden absence of city noises, Bolin thinks he can get used to quietness like this. All he can hear is the thrumming heartbeat of the earth and the occasional howls of wild animals. And Naga’s measured breathing, of course.

A/N: One more after this and we’ll be done with Borra week! Then we just have to continue on with the rest of 15 day of Borra… Yey..
Day 6: Surprise
Korra was used to relatively small birthday bashes back at home. It would normally just be her, her parents, Sifu Katara and Naga with a small cake. She was fine with that. Since she was in Republic City, though, she didn’t really expect any celebration of any kind. Which, she was still fine with. Parties were never really her thing anyway.
She woke up that morning to the same, every day Air Temple Island life. Jinora was reading at the table while eating her breakfast, Ikki was talking vehemently to Tenzin about her dream last night and Meelo was giving Pema a rough time while she tried to put some clothes on him. He kept shouting, “No! You cannot clothe the naked warrior! That defeats the purpose of the naked part!” as he tried to crawl away from her.
Korra sat down at the table and helped herself to breakfast. Tenzin looked at her, breaking from listening to Ikki’s fascinating tale of unicorn dragon hybrids that could swim underwater. “Good morning, Korra.”
“Morning, Tenzin,” she smiled at him.
“Any special plans for the day?”
“Nope. Nothing at all.”
Tenzin looked down at his food. “Ah. Well, okay then,” he said nonchalantly.
The day progressed like normal after that.
Lunch came and passed. Korra had gone out to the city after that to seek out Bolin, Mako and Asami. They weren’t anywhere to be found, which was rather sad, actually. Korra didn’t mind not celebrating her birthday, but she certainly didn’t want to spend it alone, either.
She wandered around Republic City with Naga, then, window shopping and buying food from vendors.
She didn’t return back to the island until well past dinner. She walked into the dining area, closing the door behind her.
The room was dark.
She pursed her lips and turned on the lights and was immediately taken aback by the yells of, “Surprise!” that greeted her when she did.
Before her stood Tenzin’s family, Mako, Asami and Bolin. Bolin had the largest grin on his face as he held a rather large cake out in front of him. There were tons of candles on the cake, lit and waiting to be blown out. On the cake were the words, “Happy Birthday, Korra!” sloppily written with icing.
“Happy Birthday, Korra!” Bolin said, placing the cake gingerly on the table in front of him. He walked over to her and gave her a huge hug, engulfing her in his arms. He planted a kiss on her forehead as the rest of the crew joined in on the hug.
Korra certainly missed her parents, but she could definitely say that this was one of the best birthdays she had ever had, there in Bolin’s arms along with her friends. What a suprise, she mused to herself.
